In 1979 TAMRON unveiled its groundbreaking 90mm macro lens SP 90mm F/2.5 (Model 52B). During that time the use of macro lenses was mainly limited to the copying of documents. When photographers were clamoring for a mid-telephoto lens with a short MOD (Minimum Object Distance) TAMRON delivered a truly revolutionary product.
