Don't Panic !

The first thing you should do if you think that you have a fault with your camera is to: Refer to the owners instruction manual

• Try a fresh set of batteries/battery
• Try a blank memory card/tape/disc

If this does not rectify your problem and you are in New Zealand, then send it to us at Phototronic Services.

If your camera was purchased inside New Zealand we will require one or more of the following;

• Correctly completed Warranty card.
• Proof of purchase, showing details of the store, model and date purchased.
• Description of the fault with example images if it is an image problem
• Related accessories to the fault, i.e. Battery drain fault, include batteries and charger

If your camera was purchased overseas and you are claiming a warranty repair

please contact us before sending the unit in for repair.

This is to ensure that we have the correct information at the start and will reduce delays.

Please note that signs of shock/impact, water, sand or mishandling will void

the Warranty and an estimate for repair will be supplied before repairs are carried out, also handling fees and declined estimate fees will apply.

If your camera is over one year old, we will provide an estimate of work required before repair

( unless otherwise instructed ).

We do not charge for estimates, but we do have a declined estimate/inspection fee.

The above prices include return courier costs (within New Zealand).

This is to be paid when the equipment is sent in and will be put towards repair costs if the

estimate is accepted.

Estimates are valid for 28 days from date of issue.

Packing

To ensure your camera gets to us without suffering any further damage,

please follow these packing guidelines.

Make a note of the item being sent Model, Serial Number etc, and any accessories included,

• Remember to enclose appropriate inspection fee if the repair is a non-warranty.
• Place item being sent in a plastic bag, this is to protect the item from dust and moisture.
• Place item being sent in a sturdy cardboard box or similar.
• Pack box with a sufficient amount of packing material all around the item being sent.
• Use screwed up paper, bubble wrap, packing chips or other suitable material.
• If you are not using the repair form enclose a letter or note with the following details;
  Your full name.
  Return address to send the camera to (not a P.O.Box number).
  Contact Phone and or Fax numbers.
  A brief description of the faults or problems experienced.
  Do you require an estimate before repair?
  Example files, photos or negs of the problem.
  Include any special instructions for delivery.
  Please make any deadlines for repair obvious on the paperwork.
• Label the package clearly with the correct delivery address

• Send the package by Courier or at least recorded delivery.
• Your local Post Shop or Courier Company can give you guidance to the correct method to use.

Following these guidelines should reduce any chance of problems or hold ups with a repair.
